Viktor & Rolf - Designer History
Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren were both born in 1969, and met while studying at a Dutch art academy. The two paired up to turn the fashion world upside down, literally, after being discovered at a fashion contest in Hyeres, France in 1993. They?re best known for their surreal and fantastic designs, from layering multiple garments to making dresses lopsided or upside down. Viktor and Rolf fashion shows are entertaining and motivated by concept; they?ve had models wear scaffolding, they?ve tap-danced down the runway, and have invited musicians such as Tori Amos and Rufus Wainwright to perform at shows. In 2005, Viktor and Rolf were approached by L?Oreal, who helped develop their first perfume, Flowerbomb.
Today Viktor and Rolf continue to design cutting-edge fashions in couture and ready to wear styles, and fragrances for men and women.

In 2005, Viktor and Rolf were approached by L?Oreal, who helped develop their first perfume, Flowerbomb. The women?s perfume Flowerbomb, has notes of bergamot, tea, jasmine, freesia, orchid, patchouli, and centiflora rose, and comes in a bottle resembling a pink grenade. Flowerbomb Extreme was launched a year later and is an intensified version of the original. Antidote, the men?s fragrance, has numerous notes including mint, grapefruit, French lavender, amber, vanilla, leather, and white musk. Antidote was designed to express and complement the concept behind the Viktor and Rolf menswear line, Monsieur.
