Why does Halston contain alcohol?
Alcohol makes the fragrance emanate from your skin. Without alcohol, you would be the only person who knew you were wearing any fragrance at all.

How can I keep my bottle of Halston from going bad?
Keep all fragrance in a cool, dry area, and away from windows as sunlight can unbalance the various ingredients. An opened bottle of Halston should be kept in its box to insure a longer shelf life.

How can I make my bottle of Halston last longer?
Halston lasts longer on some people than on others because of differences in our skin (oily or dry) and in our PH levels.
To achieve a longer effect, try layering your fragrance. Using the fragrance bath gel, (if the company offers one), then the moisturizer or powder, and then the Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum or Eau de Cologne, will usually have a longer lasting effect. Also, apply your fragrance low on the body, as well as behind your ears and on your neck, so that the scent rises and you will not lose it as quickly. A light spray on the hair can last all day.

Why do Halston smell different on different people?
Your own body chemistry affects how differerent notes react on your skin. Anything that affects the "natural" smell of your skin, such as stress, hormonal changes, your current diet might change how a perfume smells on you.

I agree with Pat....I find that the scent has changed from a heavier, woodsy scent to a lighter, more "vanilla-y" fragrance. It is still a beautiful scent, but not the same as I remember in 1976. I have not noticed a problem with staining my clothes, however.

I have used Halston for many years and I love. Recently they have changed the cologne so that it is alcohol free and I think it has changed the scent and texture. I find it stains my clothes and the scent is not as nice. I would love to find out how I can buy some of the original cologne. Does anyone know where I can find it??
