More Information on L'homme Yves Saint Laurent cologne
Why does L'homme Yves Saint Laurent cologne contain alcohol?
Alcohol makes the fragrance emanate from your skin. Without alcohol, you would be the only person who knew you were wearing any fragrance at all.
How can I keep my bottle of L'homme Yves Saint Laurent cologne from going bad?
Keep all fragrance in a cool, dry area, and away from windows as sunlight can unbalance the various ingredients. An opened bottle of L'homme Yves Saint Laurent cologne should be kept in its box to
insure a longer shelf life.
How can I make my bottle of L'homme Yves Saint Laurent cologne last longer?
L'homme Yves Saint Laurent cologne lasts longer on some people than on others because of differences in our skin (oily or dry) and in our PH levels.
To achieve a longer effect, try layering your fragrance. Using the fragrance bath gel, (if the company offers one), then the moisturizer or powder,
and then the Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum or Eau de Cologne, will usually have a longer lasting effect.
Also, apply your fragrance low on the body, as well as behind your ears and on your neck, so that the scent rises and you will not lose it as quickly.
A light spray on the hair can last all day.
Why do L'homme Yves Saint Laurent cologne smell different on different people?
Your own body chemistry affects how differerent notes react on your skin. Anything that affects the "natural" smell of your skin, such as stress,
hormonal changes, your current diet might change how a perfume smells on you.
Yves Saint Laurent - Designer History
Yves Saint Laurent was born 1936 in Oran, Algeria. He studied in Paris, graduating in modern languages, and was employed by Chritian Dior in 1955 after winning an International Wool Secretariat design competition. Saint Laurent became Haute Couture designer when Dior died in 1957. He introduced the trapeze dress in his first collection for Dior in 1958. Eventually, Yves Saint Laurent opened his own couture house, financed by Pierre Berge, in 1962.
In 1985, Yves Saint Laurent was awarded the Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur by French president, Francois Mitterand. He also receives a fashion Oscar for Best Couturier. In the summer of 1996, Saint Laurent was the first courturier to show his Haute Couture show live on the Internet. Yves Saint Laurent is part of the Gucci Group.
Yves Saint Laurent - Perfume History
Yves Saint Laurent launched its first women's perfume, Y in 1964. In 1971, the design house unveiled its Rive Gauche perfume; that same year, Jean Loup Sieff photographed Yves in the nude for the advertising campaign of Yves Saint Laurent's first men's cologne Pour Hommes. 1977 saw the launch of the very popular Opium perfume. Other Saint Laurent fragrance offerings include Baby Doll and Cinema perfumes and Young, Sexy Lovely or YSL, a play on the designer's initials.
