Why does Carrera cologne contain alcohol?
Alcohol makes the fragrance emanate from your skin. Without alcohol, you would be the only person who knew you were wearing any fragrance at all.
How can I keep my bottle of Carrera cologne from going bad?
Keep all fragrance in a cool, dry area, and away from windows as sunlight can unbalance the various ingredients. An opened bottle of Carrera cologne should be kept in its box to
insure a longer shelf life.
How can I make my bottle of Carrera cologne last longer?
Carrera cologne lasts longer on some people than on others because of differences in our skin (oily or dry) and in our PH levels.
To achieve a longer effect, try layering your fragrance. Using the fragrance bath gel, (if the company offers one), then the moisturizer or powder,
and then the Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum or Eau de Cologne, will usually have a longer lasting effect.
Also, apply your fragrance low on the body, as well as behind your ears and on your neck, so that the scent rises and you will not lose it as quickly.
A light spray on the hair can last all day.
Why do Carrera cologne smell different on different people?
Your own body chemistry affects how differerent notes react on your skin. Anything that affects the "natural" smell of your skin, such as stress,
hormonal changes, your current diet might change how a perfume smells on you.
Muelhens - Designer History
On his wedding day, Wilhelm Muelhens was presented with the formula for ?aqua mirabilis,? or miracle water, by a Carthusian monk. Years later in 1772, Muelhens developed the formula into a fragrance which he named Eau de Cologne, for the German city he lived in. His grandson, Ferdinand Muelhens, would later take over his perfume factory at Cologne?s Glockengasse and rename the fragrance 4711, a number corresponding to the factory?s street address. The 4711 fragrance would prove to have staying power through centuries and Muelhens would go on to produce more scents.
The Muelhens brand changed hands a number of times. Finally in 2006, Proctor and Gamble sold the brand to Maurer & Wirtz of Aachen, a company that purveys a number of other fragrances including Tabac, Tosca, and the Otto Kern and Betty Barclay lines.
Muelhens - Fragrance History
The legendary 4711 fragrance is a blend of lemon, orange, rose, and sandalwood oil, and is a refreshing tonic. Muelhens later introduced 4711 Ice, a unisex citrusy outdoors scent. Carrera cologne was launched in 1988, a blend of spice, citrus, and woods. Muelhens also offers a man?s and woman?s version of Body Talk.
